US President Donald Trump-President Trump- “What Is Taking North Carolina So Long?”-ss-Featured

North Carolina has not yet declared a winner for the presidential race – prompting President Trump on Thursday to slam the delay in counting votes in the state. He also urged an audit in Arizona.

“It took long enough! What is taking North Carolina so long? Are they looking for more ballots to fix that one also? Now with a recount, we will win Georgia also. Pennsylvania & Michigan wouldn’t let our Poll Watchers & Observers into counting rooms. Illegal!” Trump wrote on Twitter.

His tweet quote-tweets the Associated Press which declared him the winner in Alaska. Twitter immediately flagged Trump’s tweet with a warning: “This claim about election fraud is disputed.”

The president’s remarks come as he pushes for recounts in states that Biden won by a slim margin.

Fox News explained that in North Carolina, there will be an automatic recount “if officials detect an error during a random-sample review of initial voting results.” Candidates can push for a recount “if the margin separating the race is within 10,000 votes, or 0.5%, whichever figure is smaller.”

In another tweet, Trump urged a total audit in Arizona – a state called for President-elect Joe Biden by the AP.

“From 200,000 votes to less than 10,000 votes. If we can audit the total votes cast, we will easily win Arizona also!” he tweeted. Anadolu Agency explains that Trump is “referencing an article by the Arizona Central website that said Biden's lead in the state is shrinking.”
