Of course it is! Without it, we are simply sheep awaiting possible slaughter. An unarmed society is defenseless; it’s actually a major part of our national security.
You People sound exactly like religious fanatics who are CONSTANTLY saying that People in this Country are trying to bring Christianity to an end. NOBODY is trying to take guns away from the American People who have a right to own them. I own MANY firearms but I’m all FOR doing something to keep guns out of the hands of People who should NOT have them!!!! We have FAR TOO MANY innocent People being murdered by Nutballs out there!!!!
Lets just make a law that says bad people can not have guns.

My reasons for believing that the 2nd Amendment is too important to lose are not complicated.
Government.
All Democracies, history has shown, devolve into tyranny. History has shown that all governments devolve into self-perpetuation and self-aggrandizement and that democracy is but one vehicle for these devolution’s. To disarm ones self in the face of history is suicide.
We did not elect these people to change our constitution but, to enforce it and protect it from the very changes they are trying to make.
The Oath of Office all politicians swear their Oath to, to protect and defend against all enemies foreign or domestic, says it all, they must keep their promise and not try to change our Constitution.
The “ZERO” in the White House has done more damage to the United States than ALL THE TERRORISTS combined, so why isnt he in Guantanamo with the rest of his brothers?.
The bad guys will ALWAYS have guns. The good guys, without guns , are helpless.
I grew up shooting guns, and have no issue with having one in my hand. I am saddened by people who don’t understand the protection they provide when used properly, and by citizens who are not criminals.
The police won’t arrive in time to protect me or my family.
This is getting to be seen more every day. We have to protect our selves.

I believe in our rights of freedom in almost everything. Wars, men & women have fought in all past years for us to have that right. This world is going backwards and the way the future looks I want to be able to bare arms if need be.

It’s what our contry was founded with and on… All u need to do is read the constution and it’s black and white. History has shown us that a free state relies on this simple fact. It’s not guns that are the problem, it’s the laws we have that are not followed. If you take guns away from law abiding men and women then knly the criminals will have them. They always find a way to get them. And us responsible gun owners who do everything by the book are the one’s that pay for it. We are all just horrible dangerous people in the eyes of the gun banners..

The 2nd Amendment is meant for the people to (in my opinion) to defend themselves from whom/whatever potential threat may arise/this includes the US govt.( in which WILL NOT defend the American people,instead would rather CONTROL ALL aspects of our lives!! Without an effective Second Amendment, in effect, at the time of the Revolutionary War, there could have been no USA today. Naturally, pre Constitution there could have been no Second Amendment; however, being a frontier colony, young and wild, firearms were a given for protection and hunting and, finally, for armament against a tyrannical King. Absent those arms in adequate numbers and widespread distribution, a successful revolution against a strong King would have been bloody & impossible.
Flash forward through 240 years since the “Spirit of Seventy-Six” and we see criminals, terrorists, and the mentally ill using firearms illegally and contra to the society in existence at present. However, these individuals will ALWAYS be able to smuggle firearms and weapons of greater mass destruction. Meanwhile, most of society obeys and respects firearms and the laws and all of the safety measures attached thereto. Most of us do not hunt and we keep weapons for collector values, self protection, and defense against a bern or a killary rod hams clinton assuming dictatorial powers begun under ‘bama… More today, under current political conditions, than ever in our country’s history, WE NEED A ROBUST AND HEALTHY SECOND AMENDMENT. The power is being taken from the many and aggregated with the few who have political power due to their vast fortunes. Quoting chairman Mao, “Power comes out of the barrel of a gun.” Therefore, he who controls the military, cops, and MANY ARMED FEDERAL AGENCIES, WILL CONTROL THE COUNTRY UNLESS EFFECTIVELY OPPOSED BY MILLIONS OF CIVILIANS EMPOWERED ONLY BY THE SECOND AMENDMENT. The Second Amendment is the ONLY guarantee of all the rest of our protections against a government gone rogue.
Stand with me and fight to keep the Second or lose the first; then, all the rest.

First because is our right, it is on our Constitution and second just because I won’t allow a criminal or not criminal to abuse my family or my own human rights!!!
Living in NJ, I can’t get a carry permit, but the only police in my area are the state police. 14-18 minutes to respond to my area. We need to be able to protect ourselves and NOT count on the government to protect us. we also need to hunt for food. The hell with Obama and Hillary, Trump is the only one that will protect our 2nd amendment rights.
EVERYONE HAS THE RIGHT TO DEFEND THEMSELVES AND FAMILY. AND YES ALSO THEIR COUNTRY. THIS 1968 VIETNAM VET HAS SEEN HOW THE BAD GUYS USE CIVILIANS AS SHIELDS. LET US FIGHT TO WIN AS WE DID IN THE PAST.
