Former President Donald Trump slammed the administration of President Joe Biden for the migrant increase at the country’s southern border. The former president even said that the new administration is “destroying our country.”

On Monday, Trump appeared on “The Faulker Focus” where he criticized the new administration for the border crisis. Also, he said that the Democrats are letting violence enter the U.S. from other countries.

Trump pointed out that many “bad people” have started coming to the U.S. but the Biden administration doesn’t do anything about it. “It’s crazy.”

Trump clarified that he’s talking about the border situation because he wanted “to do what’s right.”

Mayorkas Claims Trump Policies Caused Migrant Increase

According to Alejandro Mayorkas, the Homeland Security Secretary, the number of migrant hopefuls who seeks to enter the country from the southern border might be the highest recorded in 20 years. However, he also claimed that this happened due to Trump policies instead of the new ones in place from the Biden administration.

The president has rescinded several Trump-era policies, including the one that made asylum seekers remain in Mexico instead of the U.S. while they wait for their cases to push through. As per Mayorka, Biden’s changes did not encourage the migrant increase, but it was inherited from the Trump administration instead.

Mayorkas said that Trump’s policies “dismantled” the “safe and orderly” immigration steps that were in place for many years. He said the migrant surge was a result of  Trump policies. He said because of it, they need to take time to enact their plans.

The Homeland Security secretary also mentioned that the current administration has taken steps to send a message, discouraging parents from bringing their kids to enter the country.

Even though the Biden administration sent out this message, U.S. Customs and Boder Protection presented data, showing that the number of migrant hopefuls increased since Biden took office.

Currently, CBP encounters an average of 565 child migrants every day. This is more than 313, which was recorded last month. In 2018, the CBP only encountered 76,020 unaccompanied kids, which averaged at just over 208 for each day.

Trump Claims Biden Administration Inherited the Most Secure Border

Over the weekend, the former president criticized Mayorkas for what he stated during the interviews. the former president even called it a “national disgrace.”

The former president also claimed that it turned over the “most secure border” to the Biden administration and that all they needed to do was to keep it running. However, Trump said they turned it into a “national disaster.”

The Biden administration maintains that it’s “not the time” to focus on the U.S. border. Additionally, it maintains that what’s happening there is not a “crisis.”

With this, Trump said he didn’t thin Biden would be worse than Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). He also mentioned that Biden is like “Sanders on steroids.

The former president also said that Biden’s administration is not providing any transparency when it comes to the border situation. It has been criticized for denying media, including left-wing media, from accessing what is happening there. According to Trump, he thinks the situation at the border might possibly only become worse.
