2024 Elections
Trump is Leading in the Primary Polls by a Landslide

Former President Donald Trump currently enjoys a 40-point lead over other possible GOP candidates for 2024. This comes despite the corporatists, RINO “right” claiming that Trump will never win a primary and instead, supporting other MAGA people like DeSantis or other conservatives like Mike Pence.
The figure comes from a poll done by McLaughlin & Associates, which asked Republican voters “Thinking ahead to the 2024 Republican primary election for President, if that election were held today among the following candidates, for whom would you vote?” among other things.
2024 National Republican Primary Poll:
Trump 53% (+40)
DeSantis 13%
Pence 9%
Haley 4%
Romney 3%
Owens 2%
Rubio 2%
T. Scott 1%
Cheney 1%
Cotton 1%
Abbott 1%
Hogan 1%

The result of the poll showed a huge landslide for the former president.
According to the poll, the majority of the GOP favor trump, with 53% of them choosing him as their top choice for the position. This is 40 points more than his closest runner-up in the poll, Ron DeSantis, who had 13% of the people supporting him in the survey. Apart from this, only Trump and DeSantis had double-digit support in the poll.
After DeSantis, in the third spot is Mike Pence who was voted on by 9% of the GOP survey respondents. Meanwhile, Nikki Haley came in fourth with 4% support and Mitt Romney got a 3%.
Other prominent candidates such as Cruz, Pompeo, and Rubio didn’t even get over 2% of the respondents’ support.
Apart from this big win for the former president, the poll is significant as it shows that what GOP members prefer is still unchanged – more or less – since November 2021, when a poll back then also showed the same breakdown of the voters’ support.
2024 National Republican Primary Poll:
Trump 55%
DeSantis 15%
Pence 7%
Haley 3%
Cruz 2%
Romney 2%
Cheney 2%
Owens 1%

While DeSantis performs well in his position as governor, he doesn’t enjoy the same magnitude of support that Trump has. This is likely due to him being untested for handling a role in which you have every issue of the country hurled at you.
What this poll just shows is that the GOP still supports Trump, despite what the loud minority in the party are saying.
