Trump Leading in Hypothetical Poll as Young Voters Show More Support
In a hypothetical general election matchup in 2024, former President Donald Trump leads President Joe Biden by two points as his support among young voters keeps growing, according to a poll released on Friday.
According to an Emerson College poll, Trump has a 47 percent to Biden's 45 percent lead, with another 8% still undecided. The Hill reports that while Biden's support is unchanged, Trump has gained two points since Emerson's poll from last month.
The data confirms that the current White House occupant and the candidate who says he wants to run again for the nation's top job in 2024 are in a close race.
According to the Hill, Trump had a four-point advantage over Biden in a poll conducted by CNBC's All-America Economic Survey on Wednesday and by Bloomberg/Morning Consult on Thursday in seven crucial swing states.
When it comes to young voters, polls show that Trump is outperforming Biden. He is ahead of Biden among those aged 18 to 29 by about two points, or 45.2 percent to 42.9 percent.
A further 11 points, or 49.6 percent to 38.5 percent, put the former president ahead among voters aged 30 to 39.
1,578 registered voters, including 574 Democrats, 559 Republicans, and 445 independents or voters with a different party affiliation, participated in the poll from October 16 to 17. The error margin was 2.4 points.
