During his Wednesday’s opening monologue, Fox News host Tucker Carlson alleged that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi “knows why” the Capitol breach happened on Jan. 6 but doesn’t say anything.
After recounting that the House of Representatives sergeant-at-arms rejected the requests from the Capitol Police to deploy National Guard troops days before the incident, the host said that these concerns were borne out with the mobbing of the Capitol Building.
Carlson said that despite being the most discussed incident in modern U.S. history, more than 6 months later, the people still do not know why it took place. He said no explanation was offered for it.
The Fox News host then added that “Nancy Pelosi knows why it happened. She could tell us why it happened if she felt like it.”
“The Sergeant-at-Arms reports directly to Nancy Pelosi. She is the Speaker of the House, and yet repeatedly, Pelosi has worked to stop any inquiry whatsoever into the state of security at the Capitol on January 6,” Carlson added.
Carlson then noted that the day after the incident, Pelosi forced Steven Sund, the then-Chief of the Capitol Police, to resign.
“What exactly is going on here? Congress’s new January 6 Committee was supposed to tell us what is going on here. Figuring out what happened that day was the whole point of having the committee,” he went on to say.
“We’ve heard that again and again.”
Carlson then went on to note that Pelosi seems to have no intention of telling the people what she knows. He then alleged that the House Speaker is using the Jan. 6 committee as a cover-up.
“Today, Pelosi banned two Republican Members of Congress from serving on the Committee. They are Jim Jordan of Ohio and Jim Banks of Indiana,” he then noted. “What did they do wrong? Those two specifically seem most likely to ask questions about January 6 that Pelosi did not want to discuss. They pushed for openness, so she booted them.”

Carlson then played clips of a time when Pelosi snapped at a reporter who asked about why she removed the two Republican lawmakers. He also played a clip of Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-Va.) who said that anyone serving on the committee needs loyalty to the country first and has “fidelity.”
He then noted that there are many things that people still don’t know.
Later on, the Fox News host accused the house speaker of starting a committee that would only produce findings that support a pre-made narrative to hide the truth.
Carlson said: “January 6 is being used as a pretext to strip millions of disfavored Americans of their core constitutional rights. We are witnessing the most aggressive crackdown on civil liberties in our lifetime. That is not an exaggeration.
“Yet thanks to Nancy Pelosi, the January 6 Committee will now operate the way she would like America to operate, as a one-party state,” he went on to say.
