Two women plead guilty to hate crime for attacking Trump supporters-ss-Featured

Two women have pleaded guilty to hate crimes connected to a confrontation that went viral, in which they were seen stealing a “Make America Great Again” hat and assaulting Trump supporters at the Democratic National Conventional

On Aug. 20 last year, a video caught Olivia Winslow and Camryn Amy destroying the signs of Trump supporters and stealing a red MAGA hat outside the DNC that took place in Wilmington Delaware. This took place right as then-candidate Joe Biden was giving his acceptance speech.

The two women, who both hail from Wilmington, have pleaded guilty. They were charged with theft, child endangerment, and hate crimes in connection to the incident that took place outside a restaurant at the Wilmington Riverfront, per a Delaware News Journal report on Wednesday.

Winslow and Amy will receive their sentence next month. Prosecutors will not seek prison time. Additionally, their lawyers agree that probation would be the “appropriate sentence” for the case. They did not make any further comments.

Other charges, such as assault, attempted assault, and conspiracy, have been dropped due to a plea deal made on Monday.

Viral Video Shows Harassment of Trump Supporters

The viral video has more than 5 million views. It was posted online by Students for Trump on Twitter. After Wilmington law enforcement saw it, they tracked down Winslow and Amy.

“Are you destroying my property?” one of the Trump supporters can be heard asking in the video. It shows Winslow and Amy tearing up the said woman’s Trump signs. After destroying them, the two women saw the MAGA hat on the ground.

“Get it, Liv, get it,” Amy said to Winslow.

The woman’s son can then be heard, saying that the hat on the ground belongs to someone else. The two women then went away and started another confrontation with a person who received a punch when he tried to get the cap back.

The two-minute video then showed Winslow and Amy doubling back, confronting the boy’s mother and hitting her.
