Women Lib's SILENT on Transgender Athlete Lia Thomas Dominating NCAA Championships -ss-Featured

Controversy continues to form around transgender athlete Lia Thomas' domination at last week’s NCAA women’s swimming competition. However, with this, prominent women’s groups seem to be, for the most part, silent.

News outlets have reached out to several women’s groups such as the National Organization for Women, Champion Women, and Women’s Sports Foundation, but none of them have responded to any request for comment.

Currently, such advocacy groups are stuck in the middle, between supporting women in sports and their stated support for trans women.

For example, the Women’s Sports Foundation states its position regarding transgender athletes on its website, where it says: “The Women’s Sports Foundation supports the right of all athletes, including transgender athletes, to participate in athletic competition that is fair, equitable and respectful to all.” However, they seem to be mum when it comes to issues, such as the one surrounding Lia Thomas.

Some critics allege that Thomas should be barred from competing against biological women due to the physical advantages biological males naturally have over female swimmers.

On the other hand, Thomas’ supporters argue that the athlete should be allowed to compete because Thomas is transitioning and identifies as a woman. These supporters also noted that the NCAA has allowed Thomas to compete.

“We’re watching the death of women’s sports right before our eyes in the name of some misplaced sense of equity,” Gina Ciarcia, who is a mother of five, running for Congress in Virginia's 7th Congressional District, said to Fox News Digital.

“Female athletes are watching their hard work and lifelong dreams being ripped away by biological males who aren’t talented enough to be competitive in male sports,” she added.

Additionally, a group of women protested outside the venue of the NCAA swimming competition, and they told the news site that they had “walked away” from the Democratic Party. They also think many others have done the same.

“I was historically liberal. I would say I'm politically homeless now because I don't think the Democrats care about women and girls,” one of them, who is an activist at Save Women’s Sports, said to Fox News Digital.

The said group disagrees with the Democratic Party’s insistence to include biological males in women’s sports and other activities.
