Border Crisis Has Republican Lawmakers Take a Stand After New Development. ‘Worst I’ve Ever Seen’
A number of Republicans warned that the migrant crisis at the southern border will soon become a lot worse if Democrats continue to stand by their open-borders policies.
Texas GOP Rep. Roger Williams said described it to The Epoch Times as the worst he has ever seen.
The lawmaker said: “You’ve got people that that are coming through here illegally, they need to be coming through the ports of entry, not between the ports of entry. We’ve got an administration that is actually inviting them to come. And some, many of them, think that they just touch the soil of the United States, they’re citizens.”
Additionally, Republicans demand that the Biden administration should enforce stronger border policies.
Texas GOP Rep. Brian Babin said that the philosophy behind open borders will destroy the country. Many want to ensure that the liberties the people are enjoying can be passed on to future generations. To do this, Babin said the country needs a secure border.
“If we don’t have that secure border, this country is in very dire straits and in grave danger of destruction,” Babin said.
Williams Claims Democrats May Lose Against Republicans in 2022 Elections Because of the Border Crisis
Meanwhile, Williams mentioned that he believes the Democrats’ lack of action regarding the border crisis will cost them the 2022 elections.
“This is going to be one of the things that will defeat them in 2022, is the lack of border security, and the lack of doing your job to secure the border, the sovereignty of our country,” he stated.
Ron Vitiello, the former Acting Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, has also called out President Biden. He said the president had a direct hand in creating the border crisis. He also called Biden out for allowing it to become worse by the day.
In an interview on “Fox and Friends,” Vitiello also mentioned the “root cause” of the migrant crisis. He said it is the president’s reversal of multiple Trump-era immigration policies.
“Working with Guatemala, working with the Northern Triangle on governance and anti-corruption activities, that’s all well and good, but that’s not going to stop the surge that’s occurring on the border right now,” he said.
“We’ve encouraged people to send or bring their children to the border and the root cause of the chaos is the reversal of the policies,” Vitiello continued.
