California State University Goes Back To Segregation

Published

on

  • California State University Los Angeles has created segregated dorms for black students.
  • The dorms were asked for by the Black Student Union in an attempt to get away from “microaggressions” from their white classmates.
  • While many social justice warriors have celebrated this move, the critics call it for what it is, segregation

In a twist of irony that we even joked about back when safe spaces were first being talked about, California State University Los Angeles had created segregated dorms to separate black and white students.

“Black-only” co-ed housing is in response to demands from African-American students who want to, get away from and put an end to, what they call “microaggressions” from their white classmates.

Now, for those that don't know about the term microaggression, it was first coined by Columbia professor Derald Sue. Her definition of it is, “brief and commonplace daily verbal, behavioral, or environmental indignities, whether intentional or unintentional, that communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative racial slights and insults toward people of color.”

Of course, since then the feminist and LGBT communities have jumped on it, so it's not just white people anymore who are the offenders. Although, if you are a straight white male, chances are your existence is offensive to someone.

The university’s Black Student Union issued the following demands nine months ago, “It would provide a cheaper alternative housing solution for Black students,” and, “this space would also serve as a safe space for black students to congregate, connect, and learn from each other.”

California State University Los Angeles gave in and created the union's segregated dorms.

So while all of the social justice warriors have celebrated this new segregated dorm as the university embracing their student's demands, those smart enough to oppose this plan have called it for what it is … Segregation. Something that these student's parents and grandparents fought and protested to stop in the first place.

This literally overturns decades of true social justice and reforms while belittling the noble efforts made by the previous generations. All of this is just one more example of how this generation has it so well off that they are forced to create their own problems.

I keep hoping that this trend will die, but as time goes on it seems to be gaining in strength. Just wait until all of these kids are forced out into the real world workplace. What will happen then?
