Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein’s Confidant and Ex-Girlfriend, Faces Sexual Abuse Charges
Authorities arrested Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein’s confidant, on Thursday on multiple sex abuse charges. This includes conspiracy to entice minors to engage in sexual acts.
The police took Maxwell, Epstein’s former girlfriend, into custody at 8:30 a.m. in Bradford, N.H. In civil court filings, Maxwell received accusations “of facilitating a sex-trafficking operation that brought girls – some as young as 14 – to Epstein's Manhattan home,” Fox News reported.

Unsealed court documents say that criminal prosecutors have charged her with “one count of conspiracy to entice minors to travel to engage in illegal sex acts, one count of enticement of a minor to travel to engage in illegal sex acts, one count of conspiracy to transport minors with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity and two counts of perjury,” the report by Fox News also said.
More than this, Maxwell allegedly “assisted, facilitated, and contributed to Jeffrey Epstein's abuse of minor girls” between 1994 and 1997. She helped Epstein “recruit, groom, and ultimately abuse” victims under 18, with Maxwell and Epstein knowing their ages.
“Moreover, in an effort to conceal her crimes, Maxwell repeatedly lied when questioned about her conduct,” prosecutors said. This includes conduct “in relation to some of the minor victims,” the prosecutors added. She allegedly did so “when providing testimony under oath in 2016.”
Jennifer Araoz, whom Epstein and Maxwell sexually abused, said Maxwell's arrest “means some justice for survivors can exist.”
“For years, I feared Epstein and his ring. Maxwell was the center of that sex trafficking ring,” she then stated. She also mentioned that now that the ring has ceased to exist, she won't feel hurt anymore.
