The MSM has been working overtime to paint President Trump as an unhinged authoritarian dictator. They seem to be using his concerns about mail-in voting to do so. From theories of Trump creating the appearance of fraud, to accusations of him dismantling the Postal Service to prevent the counting of mail-in ballots, there is no route the MSM won’t take to ensure as many people as possible drop their ballots into a mailbox this fall.
Mail-in or absentee votes are not new in the U.S. In fact, mail-in voting has stayed in place since the Civil War, which allowed soldiers to vote in elections. Mail-in ballots are available in many states, although they have typically required a valid reason for requesting one. This year, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, many states are waiving the necessity for a reason, or allowing fear of COVID-19 to be a valid reason.
Republicans have pushed back against widespread vote-by-mail efforts, citing concerns over people filling out and mailing ballots for others. There is no way to confirm the identification of the person returning the ballot. In situations where ballots are collected on behalf of a group, every single ballot could be manipulated before being cast. One such setting is a nursing home. On top of the opportunity for fraudulent votes, the Postal Service is struggling. It has also become less reliable in recent years.
So are Republicans “unhinged” in their fight against widespread voting by mail?
Current events in Massachusetts say no.
Massachusetts sent out over 1 million vote-by-mail ballots for their upcoming state election. Also, hundreds of voters are reporting getting ballots with the wrong party or precinct. Replacements are being sent to the cities of Arlington and Brookline, where the patterns emerged. However, some have reported “isolated errors” elsewhere as well.
Local officials are attempting to remedy the situation. However, they have admitted that if a voter is not familiar with their precinct information, the errors will go undetected.
Officials urge residents to research for themselves if they received the correct ballot. They have no way of knowing how many incorrect ballots they've accidentally sent out. They also have no way of knowing how many replacement ballots they should issue.
Arlington and Brookline “are at the top of the list in terms of percentage of voters voting by mail,” according to Deb O’Malley, a spokeswoman for Secretary of State Bill Galvin’s office.
Concerns About Mail-In Voting Fraud
"More than 100,000 mail-in ballots were rejected by California election officials during the March presidential primary, according to data obtained by The Associated Press…" https://t.co/qHOZ0bCtKU

Election experts keep saying that concerns about mail-in voting fraud are overblown. However, mistakes are nothing new, nor are they unique to Massachusetts; in California, officials rejected more than 100,000 mail-in ballots during the state’s March presidential primary and, more recently, a third-party voter registration group in Virginia sent more 500,000 mail-in ballot applications with the wrong return address.
If a single state cannot be held responsible to correctly manage 1 million votes, why is the MSM so sure that the entire country will successfully handle millions of votes? 49% of registered voters expect to have difficulties in casting a ballot this year, according to the Pew Research Center.
Expect not only difficulties, but also large-scale “mistakes” this election day – as the MSM scares constituents into staying home and voting by mail.
