During the final presidential debate on Thursday night, President Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden conflicted over alleged foreign financial issues.

“You owe an explanation to the American people,” Trump said, in reference to Biden’s son Hunter Biden’s past business dealings. Biden, on the other hand, denied that there was anything “unethical” about it.

Apart from this, they also clashed about “race relations to minimum wage to climate change and the coronavirus pandemic, all while moderator Kristen Welker proceeded over a largely orderly affair between the bitter rivals,” Fox News reported.

The presidential debate segment about Hunter Biden followed the recent news of former communications between Hunter Biden and his business partners. These correspondences have raised questions about what the former vice president knew about these dealings.

“All of the emails … the horrible emails of the kind of money that you were raking in, you and your family. And Joe, you were vice president when some of this was happening. And it should've never happened,” Trump said. “I think you owe an explanation to the American people.”

Biden’s campaign, however, denied involvement or making money from these dealings.

“I have not taken a penny from any foreign source ever in my life. We learned this president paid 50 times the tax in China, has a secret bank account with China. Does business in China,” Biden responded.
