Breaking: Shutdown is Permanent for Donald Trump’s Blog Page
The shutdown of former President Donald Trump's recently launched communications blog page is permanent.
The webpage called “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump” served as an end-around way for the former president to communicate with his followers without the censorship of mainstream media or conventional social media platforms. However, now, a page where supporters can subscribe to receive email “alerts” from the president too its place.
According to Jason Miller, the former president's adviser, Trump's blog page shutdown is permanent. He said the said page was “just auxiliary” to the bigger picture of what they were working on.
Following the 2020 elections, the Big Tech allies of the Democratic party all banned Trump from social media platforms. Companies like Twitter, Facebook, and Google, among others, worked to deplatform the former president on social media.
They managed to censor the president in the pretense that his claims of dispute regarding the results of the elections “incited” a pre-planned siege of the capitol.
Permanent Shutdown of Trump's Blog Page May Signal Imminent Launch of New Social Media Platform
Trump’s close advisers recently spoke to Fox News and said that they plan on moving forward with the launch of the former president’s own social media platform. They assumed this would solve the problem of Big Tech companies censoring him.
Last March, Miller revealed that Trump and his team are developing a social media platform that would be ready in about two to three months. He claimed that it would “completely redefine the game” and would interest a large number of followers.
Given the permanent shutdown of the Trump blog page, this timeline looks more imminent than what they originally planned. It may indicate that this new social media platform would roll out soon.
